![]() ![]() The reason for the split was that at the time, I was proficient in C# and XAML, and the node-library that managed Spotify playback in the node-webkit-Version didn’t work on Windows. The MacOS-App was built using Electron’s predecessor node-webkit while the Windows version was written in C# + WPF. Additionally, we wrote two desktop apps (MacOS and Windows) that would host the parties and manage playback and the TV mode. As such, we built Festify v1 using Angular v1 in the front-end, MongoDB and a NodeJS express server in the backend + redis and socket.io for realtime synchronization. The LAMP-stack was getting old and MEAN was the hot and shiny new thing everybody wanted to get their hands on. Technical details They can use it to join the party on and start voting for tracks.įestify was originally designed for small-ish parties, but we found people have started using it at restaurants, bars, in their offices and even on large Festivals. People then started fighting about whose track to play next, skipping the current song, etc. But then, somebody decided to just play his track skipping the current track and emptying the queue for the rest. At first, things went fine, people queued songs they wanted to hear and everybody was happy. The development started in 2013, after we attended a party where a laptop with Spotify was set up to play the music. Festify is a free Spotify-powered app for the browser that allows you to let your guests choose which music should be played at your party. ![]() I will begin using the app again every now and then and let you know if there are issues that need addressing.Festify is a social jukebox web-app I developed with two friends from Düsseldorf. This was a problem present in both wifi and cellular data. This process of adding a track can take up to ~45 seconds with the loading circle present at the top, which can be frustrating to the guest. This can also happen after a period of inactivity on the iOS web browser or if the tab is closed and the guest has to enter the party code again. I actually had another problem where, upon first opening Festify on OS X, selecting the first playlist song through the iOS 7.1 device would take a long time until the the song is registered/added on the desktop app (the Festify icon on the top left of the desktop app will refresh and show a progress circle indicating that) and it finally shows on the playlist. I'm still using Festify 1.4.2 beta with the same OS X and iOS versions. Hi there, it seems your software is working again. ![]()
